Don’t stop building your network

(Don’t stop me now – ’cause I’m building my network…)

When you’re just getting started you know you need to get out there and network. You know you need to make contact with other people who will help you get your business off the ground, and you are keen and driven to get out there and make contact.

However, when you’ve gotten yourself established, networking can easily slip down your list of priorities. It’s quite possible that when business is busy and keeping you occupied, networking can become non-existent.

If we’ve learnt anything on our journey so far, you should never stop building your network.

Don’t stop getting out there and talking to people, making connections and adding value to each other’s businesses.

There are benefits to be had from your network…

Referrals Making a good impression and nurturing relationships will mean people think of you when an opportunity arises.

Clarity Use your network as a sounding board. Just talking through your thoughts and ideas with others can give you a different perspective and is likely to generate even more ideas too.

Connecting power Making referrals between your contacts makes you a valuable connection to have (it’s a great way to nurture relationships), and it feels good too!

Our Super tip – always make time for networking. Reconnect with your contacts, make a call, drop them an email or book yourself on a couple of events and reap the rewards.
