Building a Powerteam

When you’re getting started in the property business, it can be challenging without guidance and support; that’s why networking is so important.

You need to build a ‘Powerteam’ of people that you can call on, that will be the foundation of your business, essential to helping you achieve your goals.

Your team will include people that can offer guidance, assistance, finance, connections with people that will enable you to complete on cash-flowing deals, and much more. (You could say they’re your A-Team!)

The critical factors in building your Powerteam are recommendations and networking.

These days we are all looking for recommendations. Time costs money and rather than spending hours searching for a legal expert or mortgage broker yourself, networking events online and offline give you access to the professionals and expertise you need in your Powerteam.

Since networking is not something you ever stop doing, your Powerteam will grow and evolve with your business as you make new and better contacts.

There is no doubt that the power of networking is huge and its benefits immense, e.g. if you find a deal outside your ‘patch’, you can save yourself time and money by attending networking events in that area and making contacts for that deal. Every networking event you attend will deliver new learnings, new connections and new relationships.

Remember you could be part of someone else’s Powerteam – have you ever considered your worth? Who would recommend you and why? What’s your value to them?

Who do you network with the most?

It’s said that you are worth on average the five people you network with the most; these people will have a strong bearing on your results. Observe and evaluate your inner circle – are they adding value to you?

Now you know how to go about finding your Powerteam, you need to get it right.
